Purpose and group

The purpose of the International Network is to promote the popularity of tennis; to strengthen the friendship between the national tennis associations; to supervise the rules of the Federation in the competition; to maintain the independence of the international network. The members of the International Network are divided into two members: regular members and members. Members have the right to vote at the congress, and the members have no voting rights. Members also have voting rights ranging from 1 to 12 votes depending on the level of their tennis development. The highest authority of the International Network is the Congress, which is held once a year. The governing body of the International Network is the Management Committee. The management committee consists of 11 members and is elected by the Congress for a term of two years. The Secretary-General is appointed by the Management Committee. The current Chairman is P. Chatreille (France) and the Secretary-General is D. Gray (UK). The International Network Management Committee consists of a committee of amateur, juvenile and senior citizens appointed by the management committee.

The official team competitions recognized by the International Network are 1 International Tennis Championships (ie Davis Cup); 2 Women’s International Team Competition (ie Confederation Cup). The official individual competitions recognized by the International Network are 1 British Tennis Championships (ie “Woodton”); 2 American Tennis Championships; 3 Australian Tennis Championships; 4 French Tennis Championships; 5 Italian Tennis Championships; 6 South African Tennis Championships ( They are held once a year). In 1968, the International Network allowed professional athletes to participate in their competition. In 1970, the Grand Prix was established with funding from several large companies. The Grand Prix consists of a series of international competitions, based on the cumulative scores of athletes in various international tennis matches, and the corresponding prizes.

The group also includes Davis Cup (men’s group), Confederations Cup (women’s group), NEC World Youth Cup (under 16 years old boys and girls), NTT World Junior Tennis Tournament (under 14 years old boys and girls)
